Redweek Timeshare

Redweek is a term used to describe a timeshare you may be buying, renting or selling. Basically, a redweek timeshare is a timeshare unit that is the highest in demand for any particular season.

Most timeshare resorts divide the year into different seasons, but not in the way you may be expecting, based on weather. Instead, they base the separation of their seasons on the level of demand. For example, summer months like July and August are typically high season or “peak season” at timeshare resorts in Cancun or Florida while winter months like January and February are peak season in vacation rentals in Colorado or Lake Tahoe. Conversely, Colorado resorts’ peak season is Florida resorts’ off season.

When you want to buy or sell timeshare, timing is everything. The unit’s price will rise and fall dramatically depending on what season you buy your timeshare. The time when timeshare rental resorts costs and demand is highest is known as redweeks. The term may stem from two of the biggest timeshare companies systems’. RCI (Resort Condominiums International) and I.I.’s (Interval International) both use the color for their season designations. While RCI uses blue and white for lesser demand and average demand respectively, I.I. uses green and yellow. However, both use red to designate peak demand.

Redweek timeshares, also referred to as high demand timeshares, are now then the most valuable timeshare slots to possess. If you own a redweek timeshare property and you are in a program enabling you to switch timeshares with others, you pretty much have your pick from all other timeshare dates or locations while owners of blue and white or green and yellow timeshares are limited only to non-peak timeshares when they are selecting
.
However, the problem with these timeshares is their tremendous cost and the timeshare laws that come with. These kinds of timeshares typically cost substantially more than non-peak times of year. While many would like the option of being able to pick from any of the 52 weeks, with the considerable increase in price, most just cannot afford it. One option would be to rent a redweek timeshare. That way, you get the chance to stay at a high in demand timeshare, but only have to pay for it that time you are using it.
